Ron Dermer was born and grew up in Miami Beach, my home town. Both his father and brother were mayors of Miami Beach. In 2005 he gave up his American citizenship to work at the Israeli Embassy in Washington. He became a close confident of Likud leader and prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. In 2013 Netanyahu appointed Dermer to be the Israeli ambassador to Washington.

Yesterday he visited the Republican Jewish Coalition of the U.S. Congress at their gathering in Las Vegas. Essentially, the Big Con. Israel is on a roll, that’s a fact. Concurrently, Uncle Sam is caught in a quagmire in Iran, thanks to Israeli inducements and American gullibility. I basically concur with Dermer’s upbeat assessment in regards Israel. It is a scandalous situation of course and harmful to America. Few people are objecting. Even fewer of those in power.

It has all been made possible by our “transactional” president, Donald Trump, predicated upon decades of nonstop Israel Lobby propaganda and by tremendous political contributions to American politicians. In sum, Washington has been bought and paid for. This started with the Democrats decades ago, but then the Republicans saw a good thing and got in on the action. It’s a racket.
