The Shea Memorandum

Friends + Interlocutors,
As a direct result of incendiary, aggressive U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, to a large extent dictated by Israeli interests over many years, we know why the 9/11 Arab hijackers were motivated to strike the United States. And they did. It comes under the heading of extreme “blowback”, the unintended, negative consequences of U.S. foreign policy. But there is more to the story.
To unlock the mystery of the 9/11 attacks I have concluded the pass key is something called the Shea Memorandum. Never heard of it? Gerald Shea, a lawyer and graduate of Yale and Columbia Law, wrote it after the event, in September 2004. He was not an official of the USG, but an outside observer and concerned citizen who put together the puzzle of facts revealed in theretofore USG investigations. A readable, large-sized PDF link to his important document is here. It speaks for itself.
The best introduction to the Shea Memorandum is a note on Antiwar.com by Justin Raimondo in August 2005 entitled “Israel and 9/11: New Report Connects the Dots”. Israeli intelligence was tracking and shadowing the future hijackers and this assignment may very well had been subcontracted out and condoned by the CIA. Mossad is not supposed to be spying inside the USA. And neither is the CIA. Raimondo’s book on the subject, The Terror Enigma, is excellent.
Then there is a lengthy, detailed article in CounterPunch by Christopher Ketcham in March 2007, entitled What Did Israel Know in Advance of the 9/11 Attacks? CounterPunch’s editors Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St. Clair wrote a note accompanying the article:
In the fall of 2005 Ketcham ran across a short report in the Philadelphia Times-Herald about a 166-page memorandum written by a retired corporate lawyer named Gerald Shea. The memo, which Shea sent to the 9/11 Commission and the relevant Senate and House intelligence committees, reviewed all publicly known information about the activities of possible Israeli intelligence operatives working in New Jersey, Florida and elsewhere, and posed the questions: how much had the Mossad learned about the hijackers’ plans; what had they divulged to the agencies of the U.S. government?
If one reads the Shea Memorandum, it is obvious that the Arab hijackers were being closely shadowed by covert Israeli agents, some of whom turned out to be the “Dancing Israelis” who were cheering and photographing the fire after the first plane hit the towers. The first plane, before it was generally realized this was a terrorist attack. What does that tell you? They knew the date and place of the attack. How? It cries out for an honest, unbiased investigation by the Congress. It did not happen.
Why were they cheering, you ask? Qui bono? The “dancing Israelis” were cheering because for them it was mission accomplished. Just like Pearl Harbor had worked for FDR (and Churchill), 9/11 worked for Israel and the Neocon Israel Lobby in America. It anchored and consolidated the Tel Aviv-Washington axis. The war on the Arabs could begin in earnest. Washington’s one-sided policy could be taken to a higher, much higher level. And it was. No questions asked. One could even say that Trump’s insane war against Iran on behalf of Israel was the ultimate byproduct of 9/11.
It’s all there, in plain sight. And it’s not just circumstantial. There are far too many coincidences. The Shea Memorandum was never acted upon. Why not? I don’t know what happened to Shea. If possible, for starters I suggest he be interviewed by Tucker Carlson.
