It's the Foreign Policy, Stupid!

Friends + Interlocutors,

In addition to being devious, unconscionable and immoral, a practical problem with Washington’s Israel-centric foreign policy in the Middle East is that it may result in terrorism inside the USA. That already happened spectacularly with 9/11. Have we forgotten?

This is called blowback, the unintentional and unforeseen consequences of U.S. foreign policy. We have just witnessed some amateurish examples in New Orleans and Las Vegas. The mainstream media and Washington act as if they have been blindsided.

Remember what Pat Buchanan said decades ago in response to the professional terror attacks of 9/11. Islamic killers are over here because we are over there. But nowadays they don’t need to be over here…they can already be here in place.

It happens when lone individuals become “self-radicalized” to commit terrorism in response to what they are seeing on television in the implementation of American foreign policy, for example in Gaza. This is a circular problem created by Washington. It would require a police state to counteract the problem.

I would not be surprised if these isolated attacks were to be blamed on Iran. The party line of the U.S. foreign policy establishment, handed to them by Israel, is the fiction that Iran is the world's biggest sponsor of  terrorism. Accordingly, Iran is on the hit list of Tel Aviv and Washington.

Certainly the gentlemen in Washington—say, top dogs Joe Biden and Antony Blinken—will not point the finger at themselves, at their own extravagant and horrible malfeasance in supporting the carnage in Gaza as the reason for terrorism blowback. It appears that Washington  still has learned nothing since 9/11. It never will.
