I guess Apple CEO Tim Cook had to throw a temper tantrum to get Trump’s attention. Decoupling from China  via sky high tariffs would destroy the most valuable American company whose success is largely due to China. 

Apple started not too long ago with two guys connecting wires in a wooden box in a California garage. Thanks to the rise of China, Apple took off from there, and millions of Americans have benefited thereby.  

With Trump’s originally proposed tariffs on electronics exported from China, every computer company in the U.S.A. would be terminally crippled. Social and business activity would gradually, then quickly, grind to a halt.
