Very interesting discussion. IMO, these two brilliant commentators have an exaggerated faith in Donald Trump’s anti-war credentials. Indeed, in Trump the man himself. If Trump were so anti-war, the Ukraine conflict would have been shut down by now. Just cut the pipeline, stop the flow of material and money from going out the door. Stop playing games. Force a settlement. All Trump does is brag and talk.

The same for Israel. Trump could halt the endless war supplies, which are illegal anyway since Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza, and stop the slavish U.S. diplomatic cover. Is Trump going to do that? Of course not. He supports whatever Israel does to the hilt and goes out of his way to brag about it.

Somehow, Tucker and Bannon seem to think that Trump has good intentions and can be trusted. Really? They never once mention the outsized influence of the Israel Lobby in “The Age of Trump”, influence even greater than in any prior Administration. Steve Bannon says he (Bannon) is a big supporter of Israel. May I ask why? 

Does he support what Israel has done to Gaza? The indiscriminate bombing of Syria and Lebanon? These actions have logically led to and enabled Tel Aviv's unprovoked attack on Iran. Yet, Bannon now says in so many words, “Hold it, wait a minute. Let’s have a debate. I don’t want America to get into another shooting war.” If you don’t, Steve, then oppose Israel and its war Lobby inside America. He talks about the Deep State. Who does he think that is?
