Daniel Larison—PhD in History from the University of Chicago, late of The American Conservative magazine and contributor to  Responsible Statecraft—has come to the disturbing conclusion that Donald Trump is now so far out of control and off the rails that he should be impeached by Congress. Trump is threatening Europe with additional tariffs and sanctions if it supports Denmark’s pushback on Greenland.

I don’t know what alternative universe Larison is living in, but he should realize at this stage in the history of ex-America that the Senate and Congress are nullities. Times change. We have crossed over into Empire from a Republic some time ago. So different norms apply. The U.S. President can do whatever he wants or thinks he can get away with. I’m not saying it is right. Forget impeachment.

As with Rome under the Caesars, the U.S. Senate is now a joke. Ditto the Congress. It’s been a long time coming, but Trump has definitely confirmed it. Meanwhile, as if that were not enough to signal the end of the north American Republic, the entire Washington establishment has been hijacked and suborned by the Israel Lobby. This again is something Trump has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. It’s an open secret.
