Friends + Interlocutors,

The writer, Alex Lo, writes out of Toronto mostly about China. I think you could fairly describe him as “pro China”. Come to think of it, in many ways, so am I. We’ve been through this before. 

Starting with Richard Nixon, Washington has done a lot for China. In turn, China has done a lot for the U.S.A. and for the world at large, especially in this century. It’s the latter part that Americans tend to forget or fail to understand. In any event, the two countries are now wholly interdependent. 

Here in his current entry, China and the UN are not the Problem, the West is, Lo points out the hypocrisy and/or ignorance of Western leaders when it comes to the wars both in Ukraine and Palestine. There is just no end to it. If you dig down, Washington and Euro leaders made possible both conflicts and are now enabling them. There must be an explanation for such malfeasance. 

I like to quote George Orwell, “Seeing what’s in front of your nose demands a constant struggle.” Is there a price to pay for constantly ignoring what is in front of your nose while at the same time being led around by the nose? At some point, Washington and the EU/NATO will find out.

I also like to quote Ezra Pound. “The enemy is ignorance.”
