18-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Wearing Pro-Palestine Shirt

Heavily armed Australian police arrested 18-year-old Bonnie Carter for wearing a shirt with the phrase “From the river to the sea” on Wednesday, hauling her out of a pro-Palestine protest for daring to display the “banned phrase.”

“She was literally [just] standing there,” a witness told reporters after the bizarre arrest. “There was like 15 cops to arrest one girl.”

Queensland’s dictatorial “hate speech” laws prohibit peaceful citizens from promoting messages the government condemns, and Carter faces up to two years in prison for wearing her unapproved shirt. Police also arrested 33-year-old Liam Parry after he gave a speech at the event.

Even if you’re anti-Palestine, Carter’s arrest is unjustifiable. Benjamin Netanyahu has literally promoted the exact same phrase that was on her shirt. Labeling “From the river to the sea” a call for terrorism when one side says it, but completely okay when it comes from the other side, is an unserious joke. Read more.
